Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway
From Brickwiki
(Redirected from BNSF)
Burlington Northern and Santa Fe railway or BNSF is one of the 4 largest class I railroads in the US. It operates primarily in the western half of the country and was formed by the merger of Burlington Northern and Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railways.
This railway was the inspiration for the set Burlington Northern Santa Fe Locomotive (10133)[1] released in 2004 in the now defunct 9 Volt version of the trains theme. Earlier, one of the historical components of the merged railway inspired the Santa Fe Super Chief (10020) and associated rolling stock.
Note: the naming of railways, and their holding corporations is rather complex and this article does not give the comprehensive names and history of them, the Wikipedia article has good info.
