About BrickWiki
BrickWiki is an open content LEGO Encyclopedia, where anyone can create and edit content about LEGO Bricks. The purpose of this site is to provide a place for new and veteran fans of LEGO to share information, ideas, links, methodologies, or any information. We hope this will serve as a sort of "electronic warehouse" of LEGO knowledge and a gateway to LEGO content elsewhere on the Web.
LEGO Bricks are a line of construction toys made by The LEGO Group, used to construct models and shapes of every variety. The bricks interlock in a very sturdy manner, allowing strong designs to be built without worrying about construction tools. LEGO Bricks are favorites of people of all ages.
If you are adding/editing content, you need to create a user account first, which we only require in order to minimize spam and vandalism. This also helps build a community and let's you save preferences, create user page, and perhaps most important, get credit for your work. You can make an account using this Log in/Create Account link (which is also normally at the top right of the page).

BrickWiki aims to add as many languages as possible in the future - provisions have been made to support a multilingual configuration. BrickWiki also allows uploading of photos, with the understanding that the photo-upload system will not be abused. Remember - this is a community resource.
BrickWiki started as an idea by Jamie Bliss and was developed further by Venkatesh Srinivas. It was discussed on lugnet.general. The English language edition launched on June 25, 2005 and is currently hosted by the Johns Hopkins University ACM. BrickWiki is powered by MediaWiki, an open-source wiki engine, created for use on Wikipedia.
BrickWiki is not associated or affiliated with The LEGO Group in any way, shape, or form.
In the 1980s, LEGO catalogs and booklets carried the following message. We aim to honor that intent as much as possible.
- The word LEGO® is a brand name and is very special to all of us in the LEGO Group Companies. We would sincerely like your help in keeping it special. Please always refer to our bricks as LEGO Bricks and not just LEGOS. By doing so, you will be helping to protect and preserve a brand of which we are very proud and that stands for quality the world over. Thank you! Susan Williams, Consumer Services.
