Over the years, many companies have been inspired by the LEGO company to create their own versions of the classic bricks. The pieces of these clone brands are compatible with LEGO bricks and each other to varying degrees. The Kiddicraft Self-Locking Building Bricks are notable in that they predated LEGO bricks. No other brands have yet proved as popular as LEGO.
