Chief Longears

Chief Longears is a Native American character at LEGOLAND Billund in the LEGORADO Town section of the park. The Chief sells beaded headbands, bakes campfire bread and generally interacts with children using stereotypical phrases and wearing costumes common to western movies of the 1950's and 60's.

Not only has this character been a longstanding feature of the park but according to reports1 the very same person has portrayed this character from the 1980's though to at least 2012.

Controversy

While considered routine in Europe the depiction of a Native American in such a stereotypical manner in Canada or the United States would be seen as racist and offensive.
