Collector

Collector is a term used by many Adult Fans of LEGO (AFOLs) to describe those who choose to buy LEGO products and never open the box and build. It has also occasionally been applied to those who build only stock models as released by LEGO.

Buying and selling of Mint in sealed box (MISB) sets as a profitable business or simply attempting to aquire a complete theme or subtheme are the two most common motivations for serious collectors.

While the term can be used in a negative manner, many AFOLs are also collectors to some extent sometimes buying two sets at a time to allow for one to be played with and one to be saved.
