| Many fans have built MOCs with tiled floors that could be described as mosaics but this is not the usual meaning within the community. |
A LEGO mosaic can be built in different ways including studs-up (bricks oriented normally) or studs-out (a SNOT technique where the studs are facing the viewer.) Both descriptions assume the mosaic is mounted vertically as on a wall or display stand.
Mosaic Theme
In 2007 two sets were released branded Mosaic a subtheme of Creator. The bulk of the sets were 1x1 bricks and included an element never seen before or since for sale: a transparent 16x16 baseplate.
