While many exist each has a unique approach or target audience. Some of the more well-known set databases are:
- Brickipedia is a wiki-based set database edited by dedicated volunteers in much the same way as BrickWiki.
- Bricklink is a sales site that encompasses a detailed set database including a parts inventory to allow for sales of complete and partial sets as well as individual elements.
- Brickset started as a catalog of a particular type of set but now includes all LEGO sets and has added functionality over the years.
- Peeron has a versatile search engine and a Spartan interface.
